Parent Testimonals

Why we love EPCC -

I started searching for preschools when my first daughter was 18 months old. Someone told me there were waiting lists at all the best schools. Well, I checked out what were supposed to be all the best schools, some were impressive at first look, but their philosophies and attitude were not what I was looking for. When I came to EPCC and toured the school my heart and my head were so happy because I had found what I wanted. A school on the small side with a warm, loving, nurturing environment. EPCC has been a fantastic experience in every aspect. It is a warm, friendly place where you feel comfortable with everyone, parents and staff. The teachers are available at any time to discuss anything with you about your child, everyone knows the children from all the classes, they all love the kids and want what is best for them.

My eldest is now in their fabulous Kindergarten program and my youngest started this year. It breaks my heart that they have to go to another school when they are done here... I wish this experience could be with them all the way through High School."

"What do you call a place where your children are loved and nurtured? Where they develop friendships that last for years, and where they look forward to going every morning? EPCC!

After wonderful years at EPCC, I have a hard time imagining what my mornings will be like without seeing the same friendly, loving faces in the morning. My children both started in the 'toddler room' and finished with the knock-out pre-kindergarten program in room 101. From the first day on, the program helped foster my children's independence while simultaneously providing them with all the love and nurturing a preschool-aged child needs.

More than anything else, what sets EPCC apart is the wonderful staff. In my son's current pre-K class, I love the way that the teachers know and treat each child as an individual. Every personality offers different challenges and rewards, and the teachers are so adept at knowing how to work with each child as an individual. Each child is loved, taught, and disciplined in the most effective way for his/her own distinct personality. Additionally, parents are always welcome in the classroom and the teachers always have time to discuss current 'happenings' in the classroom. I always feel 'in the know' and welcomed in the classroom.

EPCC is a small, community school, and is run as such. That means that parents' opinions are important and are welcomed. That means that the school will help you out in a bind (when I was late getting x-rays for one son, EPCC made room for the other in after-school care; when I forgot to put the lunch box in the backpack, the teachers made sure my son was well-nourished...). It doesn't take long to feel like part of EPCC's extended family!

EPCC has been a blessing in my children's and my family's life. Any child would be lucky to experience his/her pre-school years in such a wonderful place.

I just can't say enough wonderful things about EPCC. I am amazed at how caring the teachers and whole staff are towards all the children. This is evident when you are out in the play yard and all the teachers know your child's name, even though they are not in their classrooms.

When we first started here last year, my daughter had never been in a school environment without me. Her teachers quickly noted my daughter's demeanor and personality and made an extra effort to help us both with the transition, which enabled my daughter to gain more confidence while away from me. My daughter loved her teacher so much and still talks about her. We like to stop by her classroom still to say hello in the mornings.

This year we have encountered the 4 year old fears. Her teachers have gone above and beyond to help her overcome those fears. They have always kept me up to date on her days' progress so I know what to expect when we get home. I have appreciated all they have done in once again treating her and all of the children in accordance to their individual needs.

My daughter will be starting the Developmental Kindergarten class this Fall. She is looking forward to it since she has already built a relationship with her upcoming teachers. We are very excited about the program as well. It has been a true joy volunteering and getting involved in the activities the school has. I wish EPCC had continuing grades, however I do look forward to returning the following year with my son so he can begin his education at this wonderful school.

Thank you EPCC!

We LOVE Encino Presbyterian Children's Center and cannot recommend it enough! We loved it from the first day we met Cathleen and she gave us a private tour of the school.  Most importantly the teachers are nurturing, creative, sweet, and experienced.  Many of the teachers have been there for more than 10 years; Cathleen, the director, has been there for 24 years, and it shows.  The class routines are age appropiate and well organized.  The amount of artwork that the kids create is wonderful! A typical day of class includes a combination of music and dancing, art, story-time, playground activities, cooking, baking, dress-up, free play with toys and water play.  Our daughter can't get enough! She loves this school.  If you are looking for a school that will love and support your child, give them the freedom to be a kid while encouraging growth and provide many opportunities for parent involvement, this school is for you!
